Is there any age restriction when
hiring a vehicle?
Drivers must be between 21 and 75 years
of age. There are restrictions on driving the 7.5 ton
vehicles and minibuses, dependant on when the driver passed
their driving test. Please call one of our depots for
further details and our staff will be happy to advise.
What documentation do I need to bring
with me when hiring a vehicle?
To hire a vehicle you must bring your
valid driving licence. Please note that drivers with a
new style photocard driving licence must bring both parts.
You will also need to bring a second form of identification;
either a debit card or credit card, cash point card or
passport.
Can you supply vehicles with an automatic
transmission?
Yes, please refer to the vehicles page
for examples or call one of our depots and speak to a
member of staff.
Do you supply your vehicles with a
full tank of fuel?
Our vehicles are provided with a full
tank of fuel. We ask that the vehicle be returned full
of fuel. If this is not possible we will re-fuel the vehicle
and add the cost to the invoice. Please refer to the office
for fuel charge per litre.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept payments by Visa, Mastercard,
Switch, Maestro or Delta. We also accept payment by cheque,
with a guarantee card where necessary, and cash with a
cheque or credit card deposit.
Does the price include insurance?
We supply collision damage waiver to
all customers as standard, except where company hirers
use their own fully comprehensive business insurance.
This must be arranged and agreed by Vincent Van Hire rior
to the hire of any vehicle.
Is there an insurance excess charge?
Yes. An excess will be charged for each
incident of damage. The excess amount is subject to driver
qualification.
What is the mileage allowance?
One day hires are subject to 300 miles
free then 10p per mile thereafter. Two day hires or more
are unlimited , except where specified.
What time do your rentals start?
Rentals begin at 0800 hours or 1700
hours and are for a 24 hour period, Monday to Sunday.
We also do rentals from 17.00hrs between Monday and Thursday,
again for 24 hours.
How much do additional drivers cost?
Additional drivers are charged at £5.00
plus VAT per driver per day. We will need to see each
additional driver with their licence and second identification
prior to them being insured.

Can I return a vehicle out of your
normal office hours?
Unfortunately, the vehicle has to be
inspected by one of our members of staff so you must return
to our depot during open hours as instructed at the commencement
of the hire.
Can I take a rental vehicle to Europe?
Only by prior arrangement with us. Additional
charges will apply and the necessary documentation will
need to be issued. Please call for a quotation to suit
your individual requirements.
What do I do in the event of a breakdown?
In the event of a breakdown all vehicles
are covered by 24 hour breakdown cover. You will find
the number on the windscreen. Alternatively, please call
our 24 hour office numbers in the event of an emergency.
